Our Mission
Common Ground Statement of Faith
We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired word of God and is true and without error. It is our supreme authority for all matters of faith and personal behavior.
We believe that there is only one living and true God. In the unity of Godhead there are three persons: Father, Son (Jesus) and Holy Spirit.
- We worship our heavenly Father, perfect in all His ways.
- We worship Jesus the Christ, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. We believe in His sinless life, substitutionary death on a cross in payment for our sins, His resurrection and His eventual return.
- We worship the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer and convicts, comforts, and empowers us to do God’s work.
We believe that all have sinned and are separated from God. Only through acknowledgement of our sins, (faith in Jesus, His payment of our debt on the cross and His resurrection) belief in the death and resurrection Jesus, and acceptance of His lordship can we be saved from the punishment of eternity without God (hell). Salvation is a free gift and cannot be earned by good works.
We believe that we are in a lifelong process of sanctification (becoming more like Christ) and are instructed to join ourselves to a local group of believers (the church) where we worship, are discipled, serve, and are sent out to share God’s love with a broken and hurting world.
